Blue Hills Reservation, only a few miles outside of bustling Boston, is a great place to hike hilly trails through wetlands and forests. This state park spans 6,000 acres and covers part of Randolph, MA, with undeveloped terrain just waiting to be explored. Set within Blue Hills Reservation, Houghton’s Pond Recreation Area offers a 24-acre pond for swimming or fishing, and the surrounding beach is ideal for biking, horseback riding, and hiking.
Rich in History
Randolph, MA, is home to some glorious historic landmarks. We encourage locals and visitors alike to take a look at the Jonathan Belcher House, constructed in 1806 in the Federal Style of architecture, and now used by the Randolph Women’s Club. The interior of this lovely site is rented out for private festivities and weddings, and also occasionally open to the public. To visit a completely different era of life in Randolph, head to the Gills Farm Archeological District. This area encompasses a number of prehistoric sites that date from the Middle Archaic to the Woodland period. Investigations revealed that these sites were used as tool workshops; all the artifacts are currently on display at the Peabody Museum, in Andover, MA.
